John - Your description and definition of post and beam vs timberframe is great! I owned a Structural Insulated Panel factory down here in Boise and we worked on several of each style home. But, I could never really describe the difference between the 2 styles.... now I know where to send people for a succinct explanation!

The pictures you have are terrific and inspiring. Anyone interested in a modern timber post and beam home or a timberframe home would do well to hire you to design their dream!

Well done!

I have designed Spanish style homes, mostly California Spanish Mission or the Tuscan style. Both of these may employ the use of big timbers. For a couple of examples on the website see Stucco Mountain Home and Mexico Beach House. Thank you Taylor.
